Gigi's Asian Bistro and Dumpling Bar

Houston Food Critic Rating: 4 out of 5 stars rating.

Upon entering this mysterious upscale restaurant I find myself in a place at ease with the earth. There is definately good feng-shui here, a well balanced placement of furnitures and decorations that secretely extracted a radiant smile out of me. The main dining area has cherry blossom hanging down from the ceiling as the guests drink and dine the night away with their highest expectations from this upscale restaurant.

I've had the privilege to sample most of the entrees at Gigi's Asian Bistro & Dumpling bar.

Here's a complete break down of the entrees and my greatest opinions for each one of them:

Shumai: 4 pieces; sauce is great. $10. Overpriced for only 4 pieces.
Chicken Pot stickers: 5 pieces; delicious.
Panang beef: This entree is drenched in too much sauce. I didn't like it.
Hot & Sour scallops: This entree is ok; the scallops weren't cooked thoroughly; too much chili powder on top. Terrible.
Salmon wrapped in banana leaf :
This is my favorite entree here at Gigi's asian bistro & Dumpling bar. The red curry sauce matched perfectly with the color of the salmon and it has a sweet flavor.
Shaking beef: (not yet tested)
Crispy Fish: (not yet tested)
Snow Pea shoots: delicious
Pyramid tempura cheesecake: an excellent dessert.

This could be a good place for you to come and try out. The price ranges from $16 to $30 an entree.

Bad thing about this restaurant: personal review coming soon . . .

I love thai food!

The padthai at Gigi's Asian Bistro is so delicious. I love it!

Awful

As a customer of many years at Hunan on Post Oak I actually thought this would be great, James Huang always had a great place, but GiGi's probably get my rating as one of the worst meals I have ever had in a Houston restaurant and I eat out at top establishments 2-3 nights a week..

The dumplings were awful, both the pan fried and steamed, the pan fried had no taste, the sauce served was vinegary, the shrimp steamed dumpling just tasted bad....the Tempura shrimp was nothing more than sweet and sour shrimp and at 20 some buck I usually get a better serving on a 5.95 lunch, the Scallops were awful...anyway the bottom line is that PF Changs is 5 star in comparison to this awful excuse for food...I have never written a comment in my life but they deserve it, oh I wasted 90 bucks for this crap meal

I didn't like the food there

I stopped by there 2 nights ago with my family to try out the food. It was horrible.
